The 2024 Statewide Primary and Election will be held on Tuesday, March 5th.
Although this is a primary for the county commission, since no Republicans are running the top five Democrats in the primary are elected. There are eleven Democrat candidates.
Only registered Democrats and Unaffiliated voters who choose a Democrat ballot can vote for the county commissioners.
This is the election for the school board. There is no primary. There are four seats up for elections but only one is contested. This is nonpartisan and all registered voters can participate.

Registered voters can request and receive a photo identification for voting purposes from the Board of Elections for free! To obtain your free NC Voter Photo ID Card, visit the Board of Elections office during regular business hours before the end of early voting. Upon arrival, you will need to complete an NC Voter Photo ID Card Request Form prior to receiving your ID. The form will require you to provide the following information:
Full Name
Date of Birth
Last 4 digits of Social Security Number
Signature
The voter registration deadline is Friday, February 9th at 5:00 p.m.
Absentee-by-mail voting begins Friday, January 19th.
Early voting will be held Thursday, February 15th to Saturday, March 2nd.
